Toni embarked on a personal healing journey when she pursued her degree in Psychology. She fell in love with Neuro Science and human behavior. She then started her Life coaching company, helping women heal from workaholism. For several years she spent time in the Detroit community working in Youth Advocacy, Women’s Empowerment and School to Prison Pipeline social issues. She coached youth and women in the area of personal empowerment and well being. In 2018, through meditation and prayer, she knew to create something else to help her clients; Affirmation Music came to her in which she coined herself.

Without any background in music or writing, she went to California for a month and wrote her first album, came back home to Detroit, applied for a loan, got the loan and got in the studio. On March 19, 2019 during Women’s History month she launched Affirmations for The Grown Ass Woman. She intended this album to be a tool for her clients to practice well being on the go. Little did she know this was the beginning of her catapulting into her career of Music and Art.

After much success, Toni knew it was time to close her coaching business in October 2020 and pursue music full time. Today, Toni has five projects, 20 million + streams and performs around the country. Toni has been featured in HOUR Magazine, Forbes and her most popular single “Take Up Space Sis” was placed on Showtimes “The CHI” television series. Toni is taking the world by grace and spirit with a refreshing sound while developing a music genre called Affirmation Music.

Toni intends to continue to spread the message of affirmations because she believes it is the language of self love. Toni states, “ my motivation is the children, the families, the relationships that have been traumatized by the way we miss-communicate, weaponize words over and with each other, I believe when we heal our self talk we improve our relationships with ourselves, which directly heals the way we talk and relate to others we love.” What a movement this woman has begun in the human family. Kanye West and Lauryn Hill are my top favorite artists. They are the only two artists that I am a live hard fan for. In order for me to be a fan of your art, I have to be a fan of your humanity.

Kanye and Lauren were and are unapologetic in their expression and display of their humanity. They aren’t just some brand of success. I believe in order to create true art that transforms and speaks to the heart,  it has to be curated from an authentic place of the artist’s shadow and light of their humanity. They both do that in ways I can relate to very much. 

Dolly Parton and Quincy Jones are both incredible writers and composers. They ooze authenticity in their work. I love the fact that their craftsmanship is so organic and include professional details in their music. 

Diana Ross. Need I explain? She is feminine essence. You can’t escape how she inspires you to feel her and the music. She demands it with her very presence. And I love her legacy with her children in the ways she mothered and raised them all while maintaining her dreams.
